More than a few hotels here have this car or the (slightly) smaller one to shuttle their guests around town. I don't think many people bought them for their chauffeurs to drive - the one guy I know with a car and driver went 7 series, but the running costs were too much even for a rich guy. He's back in a Town Car.
As for the Maybach, I've written elsewhere about how hideous they look, especially in two-tone paint.

You need to make sure that you have room for even tall peasants to lie flat between the wheel wells. If they have to bend their knees, their pesky skeletons stick up and might cause you to scuff a shoe. You can't always have short ones available, and may have to make do with whatever is available.

Geez, at first glance I thought you were at the dealership I used to work for, lol. The owner has one that he drives on special occasions and keeps it in the Maserati / Rolls Royce showroom otherwise.
These pics are from back in 2013 when his other daily was the S63 AMG. His driver said the AMG was so much nicer and hated having to drive the Maybach because it was a behemoth and was just too big to drive on the city streets in Downtown.

I'm surprised to how well Maybachs have held their value, from my cursory search (relatively, that is). This is despite how badly the car has aesthetically aged.
This is the cheapest Maybach 62 on Autotrader, for $149 grand!!!

The cheapest Maybach 57 on Autotrader is a little more affordable at $75 k

Man, I love those things. I've ridden in a 57 and sat in a 62S before and they are great riding and feeling cars.
Size is the only major problem though. The 57 is a more normal size, but they both still are pretty massive as far as cars go. One simply does not drive the 62S without a chauffeur. Like I mean, if your car has a partition and it;s not an ex cop car, then you as the owner probably should not be the one driving it.
Another note is how normal they look to most people, but how much attention you get getting in and out of one. It's pretty surprising actually. That's another upside, since they aren't as flashy as the Phantom, but still draw stares.
